Because Carole spends much of her time reclining, she reads many fiction stories just for fun. She limits this reading to books by Christian authors, so that the books are clean romance, suspense, or fantasy stories. She will add entries as her strength permits. Sometimes she will summarize the author’s books by series name.

I absolutely loved this novel. I did not want to stop reading, an unusual experience for me.

The reigning prince, Philip, whose father experiences an unexpected, severe illness must temporarily govern this country beset by violence and a family who would like to be the royal family.
Political intrigues, betrayal, violence, and—yes—romance kept me riveted to the story to see what would happen next. This fast-moving adventure captivated me from beginning to end. Even though I know how Esther ends, I was curious to see how Joanna could bring it about.
This book is the beginning of a series set in Ancoria. Some of these stories are a retelling of fairy tales. I am looking forward to seeing these new books.
