Their beginning and their 50th milestone.
Chapter 1, Sunny Days in the Rose Garden, recaps the family’s days before Carole’s first injury. It includes their marriage and the early childhood of their two sons.
Chapter 2, Cataclysmic Storms, covers the two years of Carole’s first catastrophic injuries. These happened while FJ was in his final two years of graduate school.
Chapter 3, Tempest, Squalls, and Sunbreaks, encompasses the next nine years of their family’s life. They learned that although Carole’s disabilities were not as severe, they would become a forever problem. This time frame includes the graduations of both sons from high school.
Chapter 4, Drizzles, Whirlwinds, and Cloudbursts, recounts the rest of the story until the present time. FJ and Carole moved several times. Both sons graduated college and married. Grandchildren came along. And, as the title suggests, Carole’s life sometimes saw sunbreaks but many times experienced great difficulty.
Chapter 5, Damage Assessment—What Life Looks Like Now, overviews what FJ’s and Carole’s life is like, the good times and the bad.
