FJ shares this thrilling news as he writes about the abundant life in Christ, what it is, and how to get it.
On the first day of the week, very early in the morning, the women took the spices they had prepared and went to the tomb. 2 They found the stone rolled away from the tomb, 3 but when they entered, they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus. 4 While they were wondering about this, suddenly two men in clothes that gleamed like lightning stood beside them. 5 In their fright the women bowed down with their faces to the ground, but the men said to them, “Why do you look for the living among the dead? 6 He is not here; he has risen! Remember how he told you, while he was still with you in Galilee: 7 ‘The Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, be crucified and on the third day be raised again.’ ”
Luke 24:1-7
The Resurrection

Christ the Lord is greater than death’s chilling grip on His body. Death couldn’t keep His body or spirit in the tomb. Death came into the world with sin, but Christ the Lord is greater than sin and its companion, death. To the Christian, this is news that swells our spirits to burst out in praises to the Lord of Heaven and earth. We can hardly contain the treasure of good news that was given two thousand years ago. Christ rose up from the grave and He lives forever. We, too, shall live forever if we accept Him as Savior and Lord.
Have you got this feeling of swelling inside you that is like a river of praise needing to be expressed?
Do you know Jesus in this way?
Is your heart thrilled again and again because you have met the resurrected Lord?
Do you long to share this good news, the greatest news ever told?
God’s presence and power is so great in His people that they pray longingly for the opportunity to tell others that Jesus has risen.
The abundant life
“Why do you seek the living among the dead?” (v.5) Many people today are seeking the abundant life that only Jesus can give. How silly they are looking for life in the dead things of the earth. You will never glimpse Him in worldly entertainment, even though a little of that isn’t usually wrong. He can’t be found in religions but in faith that Jesus is God With Us, Immanuel. You can’t find that vibrant life of hope in fleshly pleasure, though not all pleasures are evil. The good news is that abundant life in Christ is paid for, and He has it for every individual walking this earth right now. A person simply has to stop looking in dead things and look into the eyes of the Savior and ask Him, “How do I receive eternal life?”
The ABCs to eternal life
Finding this fulfilling life requires just three simple steps:
- ADMIT you are a sinner who needs God’s forgiveness.
- BELIEVE that Jesus as God in human body lived and died without sin. His death on the cross paid the penalty that sin brings for you (death). Believe that if one sincerely asks, He will forgive.
- CHOOSE to turn away from sin, trusting in Jesus to break its’ power over you.
The good news of Jesus’ resurrection can be your good news if you come to know and trust Him as Savior and Lord.
Have a joyful EASTER because He lives and has truly come up from the grave.
