The advertisement about the place that cares for mom touts a kind, loving abode for her. Moms deserve a home with comforting people, full of kindness. Such is the way caring moms have treated and loved their families. When I hear about the just-so-right place for mom, the thought comes to mind there should also be such a place for dad. Dads are the protectors who provides security and the things needed for life. These sentences remind me of family time memories from my childhood.
A place for mom and a place for dad meant a just-right place for children. A place where children received guidance on how to live a meaningful and moral life.
Childhood memories have a place deep in my mind that is unforgettable. My parents provided a living example of how a scriptural Christian faith appears. Family life by the book (the Bible) is for me filled with just-right memories.
Unfortunately, some parents today live family life in a not very just-right world. Fractured family life occurs when a lack of communication distracts its members. Children grow up without pleasant family time memories.
A slice of my past

The family of my past was the kind that ate at least one meal a day gathered around the kitchen table. Suppertime was for food and for sharing our day’s important matters and family happenings.
On Sunday mornings, our family enjoyed listening to the “Old-Fashioned Revival Hour” on the radio. We delighted in the up-tempo playing of the pianist. Church began at 9:45 AM, or I should say Sunday School did, where we each attended classes of our own age group. At the end of these classes, everyone gathered to hear the children sing Christian action songs. Church worship continued then with congregational singing and concluded with a sermon and time for personal repentance of sin.
My dad preached the sermons, which were understandable even to a young boy. These special times were most meaningful to me. At the age of seven years, I felt the urge to publicly express belief in Jesus the Savior. I stood in place, singing, during the time of invitation. Yet, I wanted to go forward to say I believed in Jesus and ask Him for salvation. I asked Mom to go with me, but she responded, “You go with Jesus.” I went. What a good place for kids is a church of Bible truth.
Thank You, heavenly Father, for a just-right childhood.
